Deliverables and Good Practice Guides
SoMMet produced eight public Deliverables (D1 to D8), including three Good Practice Guides.
For easier navigation, the Deliverables are grouped below by overarching topic.
Point-scale traceability
Deliverable D1 addresses metrological calibration and SI traceability for point-scale soil moisture measurements under laboratory conditions.
Full title of D1:
Report on the calibration of soil-moisture measurement devices using a primary method, based on evolved water vapour detection, and transfer standards, such as "standardised" loss on drying (LoD) or fibre-coupled spectrometers, to ensure SI-traceable point-scale soil moisture measurements with uncertainties of 5 % under laboratory conditions
DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18788813
CRNS traceability, modelling and calibration
Deliverable D2 focuses on the SI traceability and associated uncertainties of CRNS neutron response functions characterised in laboratory neutron fields.
Full title of D2:
Report on the traceability scheme and uncertainty model for validation of neutron response functions of CRNS neutron-measuring devices under laboratory conditions
DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18798838
Deliverable D3 reports on the benchmarking and validation of neutron-transport models for interpreting CRNS signals under outdoor conditions.
Full title of D3:
Report on the comparison and validation of existing neutron transport models used to interpret CRNS signals measured under outdoor conditions
DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18803623
Deliverable D4 presents a good-practice guide to the field calibration of CRNS instruments for soil moisture retrieval.
Full title of D4:
Good practice guide for calibration practices for CRNS soil moisture data retrieval in outdoor field conditions covering on lateral scales ranging from 102 m to 103 m and to depths of up to 1 metre
DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18804194
Comparison and harmonisation of soil moisture measurement methods
